The Waterloo Bar and Kitchen Restaurant has a number of advantages; it is less than five minutes walk from Waterloo Mainline Station and Tube Station; it is next door to The Old Vic Theatre; the restaurant has a fantastic ambience due to the high ceilings, open kitchen and wooden floors; and there is a brand new private function room in the restaurant basement.

The restaurant décor creates a very relaxed and intimate dinning experience, however, the high ceilings and open kitchen keep the room fresh and amenable. The floor staff are efficient and professional and they understand how to be attentive without being intrusive. Head Chef, Milton Steiger, sources the freshest seasonal ingredients and insists on making everything himself; from smooth chicken liver pate or cumberland sauce to lemon tart or chocolate fondant. The dishes are simple but delicious and although the menu deliberately appeals to a wide range of people it is still interesting. The restaurant also features different specials every day.

The restaurant, function room and bar are open seven days a week; customers who just want to chat over a bottle of wine will be as welcome as those eating three courses. In addition to the normal menu, an added attraction, at the weekends, are the tempting ‘all day’ brunches like smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or the good old ‘Full English breakfast.’ On Sundays there is a traditional Sunday Roast with all the trimmings. When the sun shines there are tables outside for the al fresco experience.


 

Situated in the restaurant basement is a private function room which can accommodate up to 30 people for a sit down meal or up to 50 people for drinks or canapés. This function room is quickly becoming a popular venue for birthday parties and leaving ‘do’s’. A number of businesses also value the convenience of the location together with the projector, projector screen and private bar, ideal for meetings, lunches and dinners or throwing a party.
